About the App
NOVA Radar measures the quality and speed of your internet connection. It reports latency (ping), jitter, packet loss, and download/upload throughput, and grades the result on a simple 0–10 scale.
The app works in two modes, chosen automatically:
- On the NOVA private network — it tests against NOVA's internal datacenter servers for the most accurate local measurement.
- Anywhere else (public internet) — it automatically falls back to testing against public internet endpoints, so the app is fully functional for any user, anywhere in the world, without special access.
There is no account, no login, and no sign-up. The app is ready to use the moment it launches.

Data processed to provide the service
| Data | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Connection measurements (latency, jitter, packet loss, speed, computed score) | To display and, on the NOVA network, log connection-quality results | Only sent to NOVA's internal server when the device is on the NOVA private network. Nothing is submitted during public-internet tests. |
| Selected test location name (e.g. a datacenter label) and a random test ID | To label a result in NOVA's internal quality log | NOVA internal server only (on-network use). |
Measurements are diagnostic network data. They are not linked to your identity and are not used to track you. Public-internet tests transmit no results to us at all — they run entirely on your device against public endpoints.
Local Network access
On first use the app may ask for permission to access devices on your local network. This is used solely to reach NOVA's internal test servers when you are on the NOVA premises. If you deny it, the app simply uses public-internet testing instead.
Data retention & your rights
On-network results stored in NOVA's internal quality log contain no personal identifiers. For any question or request regarding data, contact us below.

Information for App Review
This section answers common review questions.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does the app require an account or login? | No. There is no sign-in of any kind. |
| How can a reviewer test it without being on the NOVA network? | Just open the app and tap Start on either tab. Off the NOVA network, the app automatically tests the public internet and shows a full result. No special configuration or credentials are needed. |
| Why does it request Local Network permission? | Only to reach NOVA's internal servers when on the NOVA premises. Denying it still leaves the app fully functional via public-internet testing. |
| Does it use encryption requiring export compliance? | It uses only standard HTTPS/system networking (exempt). No proprietary or non-standard encryption. |
| Does it collect data for tracking or advertising? | No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics SDKs. |
| What data leaves the device? | Only anonymous connection measurements, and only to NOVA's internal server when on the NOVA network. Public-internet tests send nothing to us. |
